Welcome to String Theories music instruction! I have been teaching music in guitar shops for over twenty years. I now offer online lessons as well. You can take in person lessons in your own home with me if you live in the Joliet area, too. I accept students of any age any experience level for bass, guitar, and ukulele. I also give novice level drum lessons to get you started.
The focus of my lessons fall heavily on the fundamentals. My mission is to empower each of my students with knowledge to navigate through any piece of music or performance situation. The basics can make your experience so much more enjoyable even if your goal is to just sit and play with some friends. Some of the greatest connections I've made with people were through playing music.
I have been playing electric bass for nearly thirty years. I began in an original project with friends I still keep in contact with. It was about as metal as you could get! I went on to learn guitar and ukulele. I am in several bands at the moment. Take a look in the Tom's Bands section on the Home page of this website to listen to them.
